Rubber extrusion
Extruded cellular rubber profiles
Furthermore, we can also supply extruded cellular rubber profiles. This material then has a closed skin. Cellular rubber is also available with a more open cell structure and a spongy character that is very suitable as a draught and wind barrier, soundproofing application, sealing or as a packaging material. This is also called Moss rubber or Moos rubber. As an extruded version, this material also has applications in vacuum technology. We can supply your orders of cellular rubber in strips or sheets. And if you wish, we can die-cut your cellular rubber as a flange gasket, flat rubber ring and/or in your desired shapes and sizes. We can punch or cut cellular rubber on CNC cutting machines. All cellular rubber products are available with and/or without single-sided or double-sided adhesive coating. We can also supply all cellular rubber products cut to length for you by order.
What is rubber extrusion?
Rubber extrusion is a technique in which unvulcanized rubber is pressed through an extrusion die. An “”endless”” profile is thus created where the shape of the opening in the die determines the shape of the “”extrusion profile.”” The profile is then vulcanized in a salt bath or by steam in an autoclave so that the material acquires its final rubber properties.
We supply rubber profiles in many different types, grades, materials, hardnesses and sizes. We can also supply custom rubber profiles based on your specifications and in the desired material type. This can be done according to your drawing and/or sample.
