What is rubber vulcanization?<\/h2>\n

Rubber vulcanization is a production method in which the unvulcanized rubber in a mold is heated under pressure to a high temperature. Heating liquefies the rubber, fills the mold and, due to added sulfur or peroxide, so-called “”crosslinks”” (connections) are formed between the long molecular chains. This forms a solid, and also flexible, rubber product with its final dimensions and specific rubber properties. By vulcanizing rubber onto specially blasted and coated metal, we can also bond rubber to metal to create a strong rubber-metal bond. Once the rubber is vulcanized, this cannot be undone, unlike plastics that become liquid again when heated.
